The Krakow Capital Menu is an original idea of ​​chef Adam Chrząstowski, who taught the profession of many Krakow chefs and cooks. It was he who persuaded them to take a closer look at Krakow's culinary heritage. - The history and culture of our city can also be shown through the plate. The title of the European Capital of Gastronomic Culture 2019 given to Krakow is a great opportunity to encourage restaurateurs to do so, said Adam Chrząstowski.

21 restaurants joined the campaign. Until the end of the year, you could try dishes prepared especially for the Krakow Capital Menu. The chefs reached for the classics: bagel, maczanka or Sacher cake. They also used local products: suska sechlońska, apples from Łąckie, paternal trout, cream from Skała, slivovica Łącka, oscypek and sheep cheese. - These are the two main directions followed by restaurateurs taking part in the action: some choose dishes inspired by history, others look for inspiration in products from the vicinity of Krakow - said Adam Chrząstowski. As the initiator of the campaign, he also added that he was pleased that the offers of Krakow chefs also included dishes that evoke childhood memories, such as małdrzyki.
